INTRODUCTIOn

The high-pressure electromagnetic flow sensor adopts a special lining technology and is resistant to negative pressure. It is specially designed for measuring the flow of conductive liquids or liquid-solid two-phase media such as mud and cement slurry under special working conditions in geology, petroleum exploration and oilfield systems.


WORKING PRINCIPLE

Based on Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction, a pair of detection electrodes is mounted on the tube wall perpendicular to both the axis of the measuring tube and the magnetic lines of force. When the conductive liquid flows along the axisof the measuring tube, it cuts the magnetic lines of force to generate an induced electromotive force, which is detected by the two electrodes. The magnitude of this electromotive force is directly proportional to the flow rate, and its value is expressed as:

Where:E – Induced electromotive force;K – Coefficient related to magnetic field distribution and axial length;B – Magnetic induction intensity;V – Average flow velocity of the conductive liquid;D – Electrode spacing (inner diameter of the measuring tube);

The sensor transmits the induced electromotive force E as a flow signal to the converter. After a series of processes including amplification, conversion, filtering and digital processing, the converter displays the instantaneous flow and cumulative flow on a backlit dot matrix liquid crystal screen. The converter is equipped with a 4~20mA output, switch signal output and frequency output, as well as communication interfaces such as RS-485, and supports HART and MODBUS protocols.


PRODUCT ADVANTAGES

  • The electromagnetic flowmeter sensor features a simple structure with no moving parts inside the measuring tube and no throttling components that impede fluid flow whatsoever.

  • It is capable of measuring the flow of contaminated media, corrosive media, and suspended liquid-solid two-phase flows.

  • During the measurement process, it is unaffected by the temperature, viscosity, density and conductivity (within a certain range) of the measured medium.

  • The output of the electromagnetic flowmeter is directly proportional only to the average flow velocity of the measured medium, and is independent of the flow state (laminar or turbulent flow) under symmetrical distribution.

  • The electromagnetic flowmeter has no mechanical inertia and features a quick response, enabling it to measure instantaneous pulsating flow as well as flow in both forward and reverse directions.

  • Industrial electromagnetic flowmeters offer a wide range of caliber options for selection.
