WORKING PRINCIPLE The fluid flows through the sensor housing. Since the impeller blades form a certain angle with the flow direction, the fluid impulse exerts a torque on the blades. The blades rotate after overcoming the frictional torque and fluid resistance, and the rotational speed stabilizes when the torques are balanced. Under certain conditions, the rotational speed is proportional to the flow velocity. As the blades are magnetically conductive and situated in the magnetic field of the signal detector (consisting of magnets and coils), the rotating blades cut the magnetic lines of force and periodically change the magnetic flux of the coils, thereby inducing an electrical pulse signal at both ends of the coils. This signal is amplified and shaped by an amplifier to form a continuous rectangular pulse wave with a certain amplitude, which can be transmitted remotely to the display instrument for showing the instantaneous and cumulative flow of the fluid. Within a specific flow range, the pulse frequency f is proportional to the instantaneous flow Q of the fluid passing through the sensor, with the flow equation as follows: Where: – Pulse frequency [Hz]; – Meter factor of the sensor [1/m], provided in the calibration sheet.
